Why should I invite my Canadian Vendors to sign up for a Bill.com account?

How is this different than the existing international vendor invite?
The existing vendor invite allows your vendor to enter their banking information once, but they don't create a login, so they cannot track payments, send invoices, manage payment currency, or update their banking information.
These new vendor invites allow Canadian vendors to sign up for a Bill.com subscription-free Basic Receivables account at no monthly cost (transaction fees will apply) so they can login and:
- Send electronic invoices and setup automatic reminders.
- Track their payments.
- Monitor exchange rates to time withdrawals at ideal times.
- Choose what currency to receive funds in.
- Choose to withdraw part or all of their Bill.com balance.
How do I invite new Canadian vendors to create a Bill.com account?
To add and invite new Canadian vendors:
- Select Vendors in the navigation menu.
- Select Add vendor.
- Enter vendor details, making sure to select Canada as the Vendor bank location.
- Select Invite my vendor to open a Bill.com account at no cost under How do you want to pay your vendor.
- Select View and edit email invitation to optionally customize the invitation.
- Select View and edit email invitation to optionally customize the invitation.
- Select Save to save the vendor and send the invite.
How do I invite my existing Canadian vendors to create a Bill.com account?
If you've invited this vendor in the past and they have existing bank info, you need to remove their existing bank info before you invite them to create a Bill.com account so you can send them payments at no cost to you.
Remove existing bank info
- Select Vendors in the navigation menu.
- Select the vendor's name.
- Select More actions and then ePayment info.
- Select the bank account number, select Deactivate and then OK to confirm.
Invite an existing vendor
- Select Vendors in the navigation menu.
- Select the vendor's name.
- Select Send vendor invite in the banner at the top of the vendor's detail page. Select View and edit email invitation to optionally customize the invitation before sending.
- If you don't see the banner, select Edit on the vendor's detail page, then select Invite my vendor to open a Bill.com account at no cost under How do you want to pay your vendor.
- Select View and edit email invitation to optionally customize the invitation.
- Select Save to save the vendor and send the invite.
What will my vendor's experience look like?
Your vendor gets an email when you send the invite, which lets them know who sent the invite, and the benefits of signing up at no cost to them.
If they select Accept Invitation, they're taken directly to the sign up process where they'll enter their account info to create an account:
- Full Name

- Password
- Phone number for Multi-factor authentication (MFA)/2-step verification
- Full address
- If the vendor is a business:
- Business type
- Industry type
- Industry details
- Purpose of account
- If the vendor is an independent contractor or sole proprietor:

After signup, Canadian vendors can enjoy the same invoicing and payment tracking features as your domestic vendors at no cost, but Canadian vendors will receive payments into a Bill.com balance. We don't deposit payments directly to their bank account automatically, which gives your vendor more control over when and how they get paid. With a Bill.com account, your Canadian vendors can:
- Monitor daily exchange rates, shown right on the overview page (coming soon!), and time their withdrawals at the most ideal times.
- Choose partial or full balance of their Bill.com account.
- Choose to withdraw payments in USD or CAD.
