What is auto-connection?
Auto-connection enables you to accept ePayments via the Bill.com network, without having to send or accept invitations. We identify which customers are already paying you, who also have accounts on the Bill.com network, and create a network connection so that they can pay you directly to your Bill.com verified bank account.

Why is Bill.com auto-connecting my customers?
Connecting to customers through the Bill.com network enables you to receive payments through your existing Bill.com account, to your Bill.com verified bank. This enables you to track and receive payments from multiple customers in one place.
What assurance does Bill.com provide for auto-connections?
We only connect customers in our network. Network auto-connections help your payments go to the right place every time with no extra work for you.
How does Bill.com know it's the right customer?
We review specific pieces of information like name, address, and payment history to make sure we’re making the connection correctly.
How do I know when I have new connections?
We’ll email you when we connect you to any new customers, letting you know who has been connected.
How can I tell a customer was connected by auto-connection?
If we find a match for your customer in our Network and connect them via auto-connect, the customer's audit trail will show an update to match status from unmatched to Automatched.
How do I disconnect an auto-connection?
You can disconnect a connected customer from their customer detail page in your account.
- Select Customers in the navigation menu.
- Select the customer's name you'd like to disconnect.
- Select More actions, and then Disconnect.
If you disconnect from an auto-connected customer, we will not auto-connect you to that customer again.
Can I turn off auto-connections?
We highly suggest managing auto-connections by disconnecting at a customer level if needed, so you can still benefit from this time-saving feature. If you disconnect from an auto-connected customer, we will not auto-connect you to that customer again.
If you do not want to be auto-connected to any customers, you can change your network visibility to private. This will remove you from the auto-connections process.
- Select Settings.
- Select Profile under Your Company.
- Select the Edit icon.
- Select Private under Control your network profile visibility.
- Select Save.
