Record keeping compliance requirements for Florida and New Mexico state that we need to acquire and retain payer photo ID information for payments that exceed a certain amount, if the payer is an individual or sole proprietor.
When applicable, users will be required to submit a copy of their government-issued photo ID to process payments exceeding the stated amounts.
Florida criteria
- Payment amount is greater than or equal to 3,000 USD
- Payer or Payee is in Florida
- Payer's government-issued photo ID isn't currently on file
New Mexico criteria
- Payment amount is greater than or equal to 1,000 USD
- Payer or Payee is in New Mexico
- Payer's government-issued photo ID isn't currently on file
Additional details
- Requirement applies to payment amounts, not bill amounts
- If multiple bills are combined into a single payment that's over the threshold, the criteria is applied based on the net value of the payment
- Multiple payments processed on the same day won't be accumulated
- When vendor credits are applied, the net amount of payment will be reviewed to determine if the requirement applies
- Pay Faster options are unavailable until documents are uploaded
